best suspension system

Post by yetiman on Wed Jun 17, 2009 8:29 am

para sayo , ano ang best suspension system GOING DOWN extremely as-fast-as-you-can? single pivot? DW-link? Four bar? VPP?URT?ICT?FSR o PLDT? Cool

which is better for rock gardens? railing berms? jumping? square edge hits? big hits? bunny hop? moto-style super fast? super D?aesthetics?hehehe

Don't give me that sh@t! Suspect Di rin love your own! Try to compare your experience sa kapalit-palit

Twisted Evil Wild horse, rear tire is all over place!

FOUR BAR---sobra lambot namamatay ang momentum , bottoming travel feel , flex , for lighter riders, lively and plush

VPP----Flex, sluggish , lively and plush , needs a powerful rider , matagal gamayin

It's my experience, my 2 cents , we may be different but we can learn from each other! What a Face MAESTRO o DW-LINK same to me

vpp.. very soft ang feeling.. no bob s padyakan.. can pin evrything u throw

overall.. tune it right according to ur riding stlye.. if u dont break it, dont fix it!

Why not solicit for sponsors then?? (calling Sabak, MtPro, BTC, Lifecycle...ahem!) It would be for their best interest naman if the products they are selling are featured in famous forums such as here to be tested in actual local trails... Rolling Eyes

With regards to time, we are always here to test it for yah... you know?! Hihihi!

So far sa mga nasubukan ko

URT - so far totoo ang reviews dito. pedal bob ang problem, kahit nakaupo or nakatayo

I met a DHer in canada very in love sa URT system! STORM Dh frame ang gamit nya , laspag na laspag ang hitsura but he won't trade it for anything...

He's winning races on it kaya justified. Had 2 RTS GT before, tigas nya either way , pero technology was still young then. Pag single pivot naman ,

since we owned a 222 and using a patriot now , to tame it dapat malambot ang spring mo , kung air shock dapat 50% sag. Para sakin kasi ang

PUSH TECHNOLOGY is just hype eh... Cool Sabi nga ng taga-FOX na kaibigan natin it's more harm than good. Sa maestro naman , i find it better

pag mas harder psi sa reservoir ng air shocks nya and softer sa chamber, tapos zero pro pedal , kung coil , very soft. I wished i had a Giant Glory

for DH before. Yung FSR system naiintriga ako! alien

@EVS, URT stands for Unified Rear Triangle. Bale...imagine mo single pivot, pero idamay mo yung cranks sa suspension. bale yung drivetrain mo nasa isang lugar sa sa suspension. it good in a way na walang chain stretch kasi magkakasama rear triangle yung cranks, cogs and chains.

hmm..yeah, parang floating bb, kaso very prone to bob.

Siguro I'll find ways to try a DW-Link Susp bike..naka try na ako ng single pivot and currently I have a VPP susp bike..masarap sya gamitin though I'm not that aggressive sa mga trail rides. Pero iba talaga ride nya..panalo cheers

so i suppose pihit-to-death ang pedal platform nya.

Q.

is it the rear suspension design, or a good rear suspension shox( pro pedal ) that gives the fs bike/frame a (almost)non bob pedaling flatform?

thanks. Very Happy

@R1, both the design of the frame and the shock contribute to eliminating pedal bob. yung mountain cycle san andreas is a single pivot pero fitted with Progressive's 5th element shock, nagkakaroon siya ng platform damping.

sabi nga nila "make the most of what you have.." rider adjustment na lang. more shifting ng weight sa likod kahit hindi masiydo palusong.

maganda ang single pivot pag ang gusto mo "all mountain." pero since GOING DOWN FREAKINGLY AS FAST AS YOU CAN and pinag-uusapan,

nila. Panalo ang 1 pivot sa simplicity , looks and maintenance. And some newer 1 pivot have "linkages" na suspension twist nila para ma-solve

ang disadvantages nito.e.g. I have a mountaincycle shockwave pero tamed ang ride.

agreed.
it really depends on a good tweaked rear suspension no matter what type of suspension system your using.

a wild guess, dude
to fine tune the compression and rebound adjustment, together with the amount of air to correspond to your weight and riding discipline.

a wilder guess
"World Cup Champion version rear shocks" used by big time sponsored pro-riders.
