for the ones available presently, yes. you need a SS-specific/BMX chain.
teka... how do you use ba your bike sa urban? jumping ba o just pedaling?
kung jumping, i dont know... baka 16T or heavier para may momentum... if pedaling from point A to point B... i'm sure 16T ang recom ng karamihan... but for me, i use 18T... may climbs pa rin ang ruta ko even on streets...

alivio or acera or tourney, pwede... pwede pa nga yung GTS crank for BMX, kung fit sa BB ng MTB...

(visual)
ramped: see da bomb cog image above...
non-ramped: see fireeye cog image above...

the ramped is the same design with cogs used for gearies... the ramps are needed to assist the transfer of the chain from one cog to another... (same with the chainring)...

yes to all the things you said.

well, except the bash ring part. depende sa budget mo eh. you could go for 2nd hand cranksets din. for the chain rin na rampless at papa-machine shop mo, tanungin mo maigi yung tindera kung ang spacing ng teeth ay for multi-speed chains. pero yun nga, ok lang naman ang ramped middle ring kasi bakal (matibay).

pinaka-importante is chain line.

chain line po ay yun yung pagka tuwid ng line ng chain from the cogs to the cranks para d kumabyos d ba??? so magagawan po ng paraan ng tensioner yung chain line? tama po ba? or kailangan ko pa po medyo pwersahin yung chain tensioner ng kamay ko para tumuwid? kaya kaya ng lbs yun para madiretso yung chain line kung sakaling magkakaproblema?

if i may...

spacers sa cog sikreto sa magandang chain line, tensioner is primarily for chain tension at madali lang ito i-align. maganda ang surly spacer kit kasi madami sizes para derecho talaga ang chain line yun nga lang medyo pricey. kung ang spacer mo da bomb o kaya fireeye na 2 and 3 piece lang, minsan kelangan mo rin maglagay ng spacer (washer) sa chain ring (which what i did) para makuha mo straight chain line. pag straight yan, sigurado walang kabyos Smile

@skamper,
no. it cannot be remedied by the tensioner or even a good mech.
you need exact spacers.

sorry, wala ako experience sa bashguard eh. i bought short bolts at cycleoptions around a year ago. ~300 ata yun.

cranks: alivio crank set
cogs: fire eye SS kit
Tensioner: da bomb tensioner rl-4
chain: kmc chain K710 or kmc chain k810

if you are using the mid ring ng alivio crank mo na hindi ss specific, i suggest yung k8 kasi mas manipis sya, mas swak.
